And Now… The Amazing Spider-Man Teaser Trailer

Sony has now officially released the teaser trailer for next year’s Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield. No shaky-cam here!

And now it finally strikes me how odd it is they’re retelling Spider-Man’s origin ten years after Sam Raimi’s telling hit theaters. It does look like Marc Webb is going in a bit of a different route, focusing on a different aspect of Peter’s background (namely the loss of his parents) than the previous series. I was also surprised by the serious tone of the new trailer. It’s too early to say if that’s going to mean good things or bad for the final film, but I’m glad to see that Webb is trying to show a different side of the Spider-Man story.
